Tulips

I was really sad to leave all of my flowers at the old house. I had put alot of time into planting and maintaining the tulips, daffodils, and iris's and was going to miss them this Spring.
Then I found these guys growing in the backyard and it made me feel so much better. They are gorgeous tulips and I can't wait to see what color the ones in the back will be.

I admit...

we've got a cleaning service helping us with the house. Why do I feel embarrassed by this? I guess because it could be seen as a negative reflection on my performance as a mother/wife. But when your husband offers this do you turn it down? NOOOOOO, ha! It's nice to come home from work and the house is already clean. It made our weekend really evolve around our family plans and resting, not the housework that needed to get done in between games and what not.

On another note - here's an article from our paper today:

Bears waking up, and they’re hungry

DENVER • Bears are waking up from their long winter naps and they’re hungry, so state wildlife officials are urging people to take steps to minimize conflicts with them. Wildlife officers will relocate or kill bears that clash with people. Several were killed last year after busting into homes and injuring people. The Wildlife Division says people should not keep pet food outdoors or put out bird feeders when bears are around.

Shell, I immediately thought of you and Ani's dream.

Rainbows

We see rainbows here all the time but it's unusual to see a full one. Yesterday we did and it was gorgeous! We were driving to soccer practice (are you shocked?) and Aidan helped me take the pictures. Hmmm, wonder which one he took?

Some decorating

Alright, here are a few of the new things that we have gotten for the house. The tree paintings are going to be hung in the family room. (in hopes that it will lighten things up a bit from the dark brown, leather furniture)

This is our decor for the corner high up in the family room. I originally had my ivy plants there but it's extremely tough to reach them with the ladder so I had to move them. Josh picked the center piece and I chose the aspen tree vases. The vases match the trees in the paintings!

Here's a close up of the other family room painting. (See the trees?)

Our paintings that are along the staircase going upstairs. I fell in love with them the moment I saw them!

The view of them from upstairs. They are really up there!

A question I didn't expect!

The boys and I were watching The Amazing Race Sunday, which we absolutely love!! Out of nowhere Aidan asks, "So, who's the guy?"

I had no idea what he was talking about so I said, "huh?"

"Who's the guy? It says Dating under their names."

Oh, I get it. He's talking about Carol and Brandy who are a lesbian couple on the show.

I calmly say, "There isn't a guy. They are two girls who love each other but it says Dating because right now two girls/two boys can't marry each other. If they could marry I bet they would and then it would say Married Couple or something."

Quite a bit of time passes and then out of nowhere he says, "I think it's the one on the left who is the guy."

I left it at that, but chuckled quietly inside.

Video of new house

I've tried three times to get it uploaded and it's not happening. Today it uploaded for 5 hours and still didn't complete. Sorry guys!

We have beautiful weather predicted for the weekend and I plan to enjoy every bit of it that I can. Hope you guys have a great one also!

Normalcy

I'm craving it big time. We're getting close but not quite there yet. Spring Break is finally over so the boys returned to school today.

The house is coming along but still not decorated. Don't worry, I didn't forget about the videos that I want to do so check back this week for those!

Work is busy but I'm keeping up. Just getting a little tired and I would love to take a day off to just sit around the house and watch tv. That last wish seems a little sad to me, ha!

We also had company last week (Josh's mom) which was awesome. She helped so much around the house, we wouldn't be where we are without her!

We did have a lovely Easter yesterday though. Got up early for the sunrise service at church and then hung out at home and colored eggs with the boys until our friends came over for dinner. My first ever ham turned out wonderful! It wasn't dry which was my biggest worry. The kids got to decorate Easter cookies also. I'll have to take a picture of Tristan's Easter egg soccer field he created!
