The secret I've been dying to share!

We are going to have a baby! This is something that I've wanted for as long as I can remember but I never imagined it would take this long or what a journey it would be! We had a wonderful doctor who made this possible for us after 6 months of treatment. (Not including the 5 years on our own.) Here is the first time that we saw our little one:

6 weeks, 4 days (the baby is in-between the crosses)

I kept this pretty quiet because I hated to get so excited only for something to go wrong. Unfortunately I work in a Birth Center so I know what can happen. (Ignorance is definitely bliss!) Plus, when you want something for so long it takes awhile for things to finally seem "real". Believe me, I've got tons of pregnancy tests to prove it!

Today was the day that I've been waiting for. I had my 12 week ultrasound and tomorrow I will officially be out of my first trimester! Here's the baby now:

12 weeks, 6 days. It's really amazing, I feel like I'm floating on clouds.

No weight gain so far which is great as I was a little overweight to begin with. No morning sickness, mostly fatigue and nausea in the evenings. The heartbeat is normally between 154-160. I know this because we rented a fetal Doppler and we've been listening to it every other day for the past two weeks. (I told you I'm a mess.) It's harder to be pregnant when you're older, I can feel the difference. At times I seem to move a bit slower and last night I misplaced my car keys and looked for 10 minutes to only find them in my purse!!!

Our family is very happy and excited and I can't wait to continue sharing the news. I'll keep you all updated.

Late recap from Saturday

Yep, another 3v3 soccer tournament in Denver! This one was a little different in the fact that if you made it to the championship you got to play at the Rapid's stadium on the field! Wouldn't you know it - both boys made it so we had to stay until 10 p.m. to play the game. Whew!
Aidan's team didn't win the championship but they still had fun playing on the field. The final was 4-3 so it was a very exciting game!

Here's a picture of Aidan in action.

Tristan's team! They did win their championship, 6-5! Tristan had the winning goal!

Look at those smiles! Even after a 15 hour day with most of that spent in 100 degree heat. They were thrilled!

Slip'n Slide

The boys had a wonderful idea the other night, not sure if it was spurred by a commercial on tv or not. They wanted to go and get a slip'n slide! After seeing these pictures I have to agree that it was a great idea.

This is what they did almost all day yesterday! Even Opal got into the fun - she would race alongside of them!

T is suffering today from a bit of a sunburn on his back so they are taking today off! I'm jealous of all of their summer fun!

3v3 Champs

Aidan's 3v3 soccer team won their tournament this weekend! They have not ever lost a 3v3 match since the 5 of them started playing together which is completely amazing! Their team has now qualified for the Regional tournament in Vail at the end of this month. WooHoo!

Eclipse

I have to admit that I never thought I'd see the day that my husband and two boys would be watching Twilight movies! They watched the first two movies this past week and are now at the movies to the see the 3rd one. Wow!

4th full of hail!

Thank goodness we didn't have any grand plans outside for the 4th! We would have looked like our neighbors who were frantically taking down canopies and putting up chairs in the rain and hail. Tristan made this #1 from the hail that was on our deck. (He said a 4 was too hard to make, ha!)
Don't worry, we still had fireworks. We just stood in the comfort of our garage as we lit them and threw them out into the lower part of our driveway/street. We had to stay away from these little buggars because if they hit you, it hurt!

I think this is the largest hail we've ever had here in 11 years. But it was still a great holiday spent with wonderful friends in the comfort of our home.

Zoo trip

We took some friends who moved here from Virginia to the zoo yesterday! It's one of our favorite places in Colorado Springs to share with others. The views are fantastic and make some of those hills worth it!
And who doesn't love a naked mole rat?

Boys!

We walked the entire zoo in 3 hours! It was a beautiful day and lots of fun to share with friends. My legs were a bit sore this morning though, ugh.
