The first night we'll be staying here. This should be interesting huh?
When I called to make reservations (6 weeks ago) I didn't realize how popular Custer, SD is during the 4th of July so I could only get 1 night at the state park.
Anyway, the goal for this trip is to get away from home and soccer for just a weekend as a family. Mt. Rushmore has been on our list as a "must see" for a while now and when I found out it was only 6 hours from us I knew we had to do it. It'll be a short trip, Friday - Sunday but if we love it, we can always go back. I'll post pictures as soon as I can next week so check back!

I wish we could go on as many trips as you guys do. Have fun and have a great 4th. We'll be staying home and popping works at the house most likely.
Hope you guys have fun Steph, be careful! I'm glad we get to go also, if we didn't we wouldn't even have fireworks to keep us occupied. Their illegal here.
That sounds like so much fun! That is on my list with the Grand Cannon also. We are having a BBQ Potluck today and then off to see the fireworks downtown over the lake. The girls are scared of popping them so we just watch from a distance now. I did not know they were illegal in Colorado? wow! Have fun honey!
