1st day of school!

It's finally here!! We were all ready for it, believe me! Hopefully now that they will be apart for 7 hours a day the boys won't argue so much between themselves.

To start off our new year we went to breakfast at I.H.O.P. That was fun, I've never been there at 6:45 am before, ha! Aidan was very happy and excited about school and Tristan was reserved and nervous. I know this because he was up at 5:15 trying to tell me about a dream he had. He just used that to cover his nervous tears but I'll never tell him I know the real reason he was upset. Hopefully I'll get to hear all about his wonderful day when he gets home.

This is also a new beginning for me as a mom. I'm only going to work during the hours that the boys are in school. I've never been there for them in the mornings because I've always worked the 7 am shift. I'm so excited!!!! I have the same amount of work to do within a shorter amount of time and I'm praying that I'm able to keep up with things. But I'm so happy that my boss okayed this change and for now I'm going to enjoy every minute of it!

Also, something that makes me secretly happy inside: I no longer will have to come home and straighten the house for 30 minutes or however long it takes. It will look exactly the same as I left it in the morning!

I am so excited for you guys! And what a schedule. My girls are not even in school yet, but I already hate that I will not be there to help get them ready for school. I just know I will have a check list of like 20 things that Jon has to do before he takes them. ha ha! He already brings me "the dirty face and dirty clothes kids" to work everyday. UGGHHH!! So, what will your new schedule be? Will you be off at 5pm? I just love hearing the reality of Tristan as he seems very in tune with his vulnerability. I want to hug him just thinking about the nervousness. I think Caeli is going to be just like him b/c she shows those signs all the time. I can't even seem to get her to say thank you to people b/c she is so embarressed and then she tells me later (in the car or wherever) that she was too shy and was scared to. HOW DO YOU BREAK THAT? Now Ani on the other hand, yells to strangers "Hi!" but not too much to people we know. Odd. :) I hope the boys have a fabulous day and everyone really likes their new schedule. Will you have afterschool care for them? Anyways, I can't wait to hear more details. Love yoU! -Shelly

I just left my job last October to be a SAHM. It is wonderful! Congrats to you for being able to be there for your kids. And congrats to your boss/job for being so family friendly! BTW, I know what you mean about cleaning up after leaving the kids and dad at home alone! Come check out my blog sometime. Jen :)

The best thing about it Shell is that I'll work 9-3:30. The boys don't make it home until 4:05 so I'm always here! I'm so much happier already!

Thanks Jen! I'll check your blog later today!

That is so awesome! What a perfect schedule! Enough time to get away and have a work social like and also the chance to be home with the kids at the most important times! I am super happy for you! :)

Sounds great to me. I'm still nervous about how our schedule will be. Preston will probably be taking Alyssa to school and picking her up till he gets a job and then it depends on his schedule.
