Oh, the places we go!

Tristan's 3v3 team played at the University of Denver two weeks ago. (He's the second from the left.) They love taking a team picture at each new location! The next to come - Phoenix, AZ. Soccer can take you far at this level! Both boys will play there October 15-17. I'm praying that their weather temperatures will drop soon, it's in the 100's all this week. The sad thing is - I'm more worried about myself than the boys who will actually be playing soccer! All I need is to faint on a soccer field, ugh.

New Sunday Tradition

We get to hang our flag!!!!!
Josh ordered the flags and then had them sewed together so that it's really one! His side is the Saints and my side is the Cowboys of course!

I'm waiting for someone to throw something at the house now. It's dangerous living in Bronco territory.

6th grade boys!

Funny story from Tristan's lunch period the other day:

Tristan brought oreos in his lunch but since he doesn't like chocolate he only licked the creme from the middle and had the cookies left over. Another boy at the table told his friend Alex that if he ate the cookies (that were licked I remind you) he would give him a dollar. Alex had no problem with that and quickly ate the cookies to receive his $1!!! Oh my goodness, that grossed me out just hearing the story.

When Tristan was telling us the story that evening Aidan had a strange look on his face so I asked him if he would have done that? He told me, "No!" A few seconds later he added, "it would have to be $5 not a $1!" That's Aidan for you, or maybe that's just boys!

Follow-up to below and new stuff!

This was Aidan's school picture. He did his hair himself at school, wish I felt that it looked as good as Caeli's did when she did the same, oh man! Anyway, he had been growing his hair out since May and refused to cut it. He liked the long hair and wanted it to be even longer. I had him talked into a haircut as a Christmas present until yesterday....

He surprised me by saying that he would go to the salon if he could get the MVP treatment! It was only my 100th time to ask him and I jumped at the opportunity. (The MVP is a cut, wash, massage, hot towel on the face, and then style.) Here's the after:

Yes, I made him hold some of the hair! You should have seen his face during the cut - he was shocked to see how long it really was. His style and the length was his decision, he could have kept it somewhat long if he wanted but this was his choice (which is exactly how I wanted it to all play out). I can't put it into words how happy I am! Steph, please show Preston!

Baby names - Thank you guys sooooooo much for all of the comments. It was a shock but a happy one to actually get 6 comments on a post. There are 2 names that Josh and I have added to our list from what you guys gave us but they'll remain a surprise until we make the official announcement.
Jen - Quentin (Quinn) was my favorite and the boys liked it too. Josh overrode it, he doesn't like it at all and apparently has a cousin by that name. Ugghhh! Please keep the suggestions coming, it's great to hear from you!
Shell - You are the best and yes this is fun! I'm so glad I put it out there and asked for your help. Please keep the names coming!
Steph - Emory was the name but it's the one that I was talking about that no one likes as a boy's name. Good memory (that's funny, Emory - Memory), I think it's been a while since I told you that.
It's still on the list and a front runner, what do you guys think?

Any suggestions?

We are having a hard time with the name for this little guy and I thought I would go ahead and put it out there and see if you guys have any ideas? There are a few restrictions though -

  • It must be at least two syllables.
  • It can't begin with S, J, T, or A. (Every member of our family will have his own letter!)
  • It needs to be somewhat unusual but not out there too far. Definitely not something on the top 100 lists; I'd love for him to be the only one in his class with the name.

I have one in mind but it doesn't seem to be a favorite amongst others. Josh and I have agreed but that's it. I'd love your help, don't be scared - throw them at me!

Sharing with the boys.

They could not wait to find out if we would be having a boy or a girl. Tristan had even put out a poll on his soccer website to see what people thought it would be! Of course, boy beat girl by a mile.
I put together a little sack with a bubble gum cigar that said "It's a Boy!" and they opened it at the same time.
Just a tiny bit happy don't you think?

The big announcement!

For those of you who don't already know - it's another boy!!!

These are a few of the best pictures from today's ultrasound. (Bottom right is the money shot. He's impressed his brothers already!)
Here's the scoop on our appt:
Weight gain - 6 lbs, now I'm entering the part of pregnancy where it could be a pound a week.

Baby - weighs 14 ounces and is on target for his due date of January 29th. Heartbeat - 157. Yes that is definitely an old wives tale! Everything from the ultrasound looked normal. Thank you God!

Me - all testing came back normal and now with our ultrasound results we have a 1 in 1500 chance of having a child with chromosomal abnormalities. My chances are the same as a 25 yr old now. I did learn that I have an anterior placenta. It means that my baby is actually behind the placenta instead of in front. This is the reason as to why it took me so long to actually feel the baby move! I thought I was going crazy for a bit there but now it all makes sense.

20 week belly pics!

And it's my first pair of maternity pants. In my quest for cute/current maternity clothes Motherhood is the only store that works for me so far.

Great weekend!

Not too much happened this weekend which is exactly why it was so GREAT! Soccer on Saturday, Tristan's team remains undefeated and he had a beautiful goal! Aidan's team tied so that was okay. Sunday was a very relaxing day full of football! My team lost which was frustrating. With all of the penalties they get now - it's beginning to be really difficult to actually watch them play.

Here's T's school picture:

He didn't really want to smile again but did it just for me! He's really grown up looking huh? Believe me - he's really this grown up! He broke up with his girlfriend last week. Now that school's started they don't see each other much and they've decided to just be friends. I'm glad that it ended well, she even came over last night to see if he could play.

This is what I saw out my kitchen window this morning! Beautiful huh? I love seeing the hot air balloons along with a gorgeous day. What a way to start your day!

One more week!

This time next week we will have had our big ultrasound and will hopefully know if we are expecting another boy or girl. I'm excited and nervous all together. Up until a few days ago I had this desire for a girl but honestly now - I could care less about the gender. I just want the baby to be okay. Not sure if I've seen too much at work lately or what but I just have this worry inside and I'm not sure why. Keep us in your prayers and we'll update you all soon. Heartbeat is holding strong between 145-150!

Should I go into dentistry?

Well, we officially have our #3 for this week. That tooth that was hurting Aidan has a cavity but not just a normal cavity, it's all the way to the nerve! Technically he would need a root canal but it's a baby tooth and they don't always work well so we've decided to pull it and put it a fake tooth as a spacer. I should have known that it was going to be a doozy of a cost when they said they would go and get the numbers for me, ha! Turns out, I will need to pay $340 as my portion after insurance. And the killer was that in order to make the impression and start getting the spacer made I had to pay for it immediately! Let's just say that Aidan owes me big time. He's already started his new maintenance routine as his attempt to take better care of his teeth but I've seen that before - it normally lasts a few days. This poor boy won't have any teeth left in his mouth at this rate!

It happens in 3's right?

Not sure what's going on but I've had a rough couple of days. Monday I noticed that I had lost one of the diamonds in my new ring that is only 7 months old. It was one of the smaller ones thank the Lord and our insurance plan is going to cover the repairs even though I didn't get it in for the inspection that should have happened at 6 months which is another blessing. But I still don't have my ring for 2 weeks :(

This morning as I was about to enjoy a cup of coffee and my last 15 minutes of peace before taking off to work, I spilled the entire cup of coffee into my lap, down into the chair I'm sitting in, and onto the carpet in the den. I haven't said S-H-I-T so many times in such a while! I had to change my clothes, rinse off, redress, and then attempt to clean up the mess as best as I could. I assume a call to have our carpets cleaned will be happening soon.

Today the boys will go to the dentist after school. How much of a coincidence is it that Aidan complains of a tooth hurting him last night? I take a look and even through my untrained eyes I can tell there is probably a problem and my guess, it's not a little cavity. One side of the tooth is pretty gray looking so I'm expecting to hear some bad news in a few hours. I'll update you guys tomorrow!
