This is so true! We had a black bear walk into a major electronics store right in the middle of town. I'm not joking - this is crazy and really funny.

I'm surprised by some towns attitudes towards bears.
We do chili cook offs in Snow Mass, and they are very strict about not leaving anything out that will attract bears.
But when we have cook offs in Winter Park, they have never told us anything about taking steps to prevent the bears from coming into the cook off sites. In fact, just two years ago, bears raided the site as well as our condo parking lot. We had a cooler in the back of our truck with our sodas and water in it, and a bear climbed up into the bed of the truck, tried opening the cooler, but was unsuccessful. Kudos to Coleman for making great coolers!

Seems like it's happening more often now also.
I have a friend who lives in the middle of nowhere in Palmer Lake. They had a black bear come up to their house! They tried to stand tall and raise their arms to make themselves appear bigger. (Guess that's what they tell you to do.) All it did is make the bear stand up also!
Remind me to tell you about the nightmare I had when a bear broke down our french doors in the back and picked Jon up by his leg. Craziness! Ha Ha!
